Solar-Roof-Check is based on the following:

  1. based soley on the user's inputAllowable Stress Design, latest edition of National Design Specifications for Wood Design (NDS).
  2. Lumber Species: Fb = 1000 psi (minimum): Douglas Fir-Larch Construction Grade or No. 1; Southern Pine Construction Grade; Mixed Southern Pine Construction Grade; or Spruce-Pine-Fir Construction Grade
  3. Loading Combinations in accordance with ASCE 7-05, or ASCE 7-10.
  4. Assume all members and connections that support the rafter being reviewed conform to NDS and ASCE provisions.
  5. Assume all members have full lateral support along their length.
  6. Short term temporary deflections have not been considered.
  7. This program can be used as a tool, to request Professional Engineering services.
  8. This program is based solely on the user’s input.
  9. This program does not include a review by a licensed design professional.
